Meadows End occupies a quiet location at the end of a private lane with views of Castleton and Mam Tor. It offers a splendid position for walking or touring (map ref: 168840)
It lies on a footpath at the foot of Losehill. Leading to the Grand Ridge, Edale and Kinder. Paths also give ready access to Castleton, the Derwent Valley and Ladybower etc..
Meadows End is a 30 minute drive from Sheffield, Chesterfield, Bakewell, and Buxton, and is close to Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and the "plague" village of Eyam.
Hope village is about half a mile away and has a greengrocers, a spar shop, a delicatessen, a butcher and a Post office/paper shop.
Hope also has three eating pubs and several other excellent eating places within two miles. |
